How to break self-deprecating AI's use of web content crew?
GenAI is self-deprecating in that it undermines the creation of very web content it trains on by reducing traffic to content sources (reduced click throughs, ad revenue), this deincentivizing creation of new web content. Content creators have almost zero control over how AI accesses or uses their content. Many are reacting by blocking AI crawlers (whether that is effective or not is another question.)
The one off deals going on between AI companies and big content creators aren’t sustainable especially for small businesses.
