Thusly proving that Twitter is nothing without outrage politics to fuel it.
Going by the showdead comments here when the news broke, a good chunk of that traffic is probably people trying to provoke a civil war before the identity of the shooter was revealed to be more like a boringly common school shooter than an elite antifa commando.

>Seriously, anyone who would go to a campaign event and cheer like you're at a football game has some serious mental issues. What a pathetic life they must have.

There's a lot to criticize the post-Trump Republican party for but cheering at campaign events is weak sauce. That happens at events of all kinds, everywhere, and most of the people cheering are plants to begin with.

Also, I've yet to see anyone evaluate the site for not traffic.

It was not infested before it changed gender and now it's probably worse because without content generators it might seriously appear worse

Football likely was also part of this.
It’s outrage and bots.

Fuck Musk.

These comments reflect a thought I relayed to my friends over the weekend: the US mainstream media want Trump to be president. Why? Trump is good for their business. As we go from one crisis to another, they'll be there covering it. Good news doesn't capture viewership.

But I'm not going to be watching it. I'm done with these people.

The comments here saying "it's outrage" are wrong. I myself installed the app this weekend just to see what people were saying about the assassination attempt.

I'd have rather just stayed on HN with you folks, but I knew any mention of it was going to be censored and suppressed here (and I wasn't wrong).

I knew I could go to X to see people discussing it.

Shots fired at legacy media! What ever happened to "major" news outlets reporting their numbers on big news days like this? I can't find any to confirm their majority.
