This has been one of the greatest community achievements that man has made in the last 20 years. Here's hoping it stays open, and empowers people and small businesses alike.
I would say Blender is.
What's even that? Sounds like something kids play with these days, like Fortnite or Minecraft.
As games are mentioned here -- we do have a number of "community acheivements" in the sector as well. The DooM, Build or Quake games are an example... being over 20 years old and still going strong!
There are a lot of great "community achievements" -- some being more than others.. or based on opinions.

- Linux Kernel + GNU

- Blender, Gimp, Git, other free/open software, etc

- OpenStreeMap, Wikipedia, etc

- Programming languages, etc.

- + more

I agree, but the contributions of these other projects have a barrier to entry being that it requires people to largely program.

Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap? Anyone can contribute, and the tools to do so have been made all the more accessible.

I remember going to an event in 2006 called "Mapchester" in Manchester, UK to gather data for OSM with GPS units and digital cameras. It's come an incredibly long way since then!
