Ask HN: Linux user (XFCE) but work gave me a MacBook

The last post on this I could find was from 9 years ago...

Is there any tips or a migration guide for moving from Linux (Ubuntu with XFCE) to a MacBook?

Major thing is my personal notes are in Zim desktop wiki.

I use zsh, tmux, vim, thunderbird, Firefox, keepassX. Work is using a Google tech stack.

Thank you

You can install all those on a Mac book. The main thing I have to adapt to with a mac (and my iPad) is that there is a different CTRL key you use to type CTRL-C for a terminal and an OPTION button you use for typing OPTION-C to copy in a GUI application. Personally I have no trouble switching between that and Windows or Linux.
Good to know, thanks!
