I found it most interesting that 43% of men who responded owned firearms, and the average number of firearms owned was 1.15.

There are about 125m adult men in the US, and about 393m civilian-owned firearms, they would own 143.75m firearms.

Either this survey is significantly flawed, or US women and children own the remaining 249.25m firearms…

Gun ownership follows a fairly extreme pareto distribution where a few "gun nuts" (I could probably be considered one of them) own a dozen to several dozen guns, while most people will own zero or one.

It's the same thing with alcohol - the vast majority of it is consumed by alcoholics.

I'd think the average would be higher and the median would be somewhere around one, but I didn't do that well in statistics.
