C implementation of Swipe input method?

Now that the Swype patent has expired, I think it would be neato to see some FOSS implementations. Does anyone know of any promising projects? I would love a raspberry pi pda with a resistive touch screen and swipe input, or a Swipe keyboard for 3ds homebrew/3ds Linux. Would remove one of the major boundaries from adopting non-android/iOS smart devices. I would also be willing to contribute to a bounty for such software.
