I would add some curious notes to that, in the context of Italians who emigrated to Argentina [1][2].

In Argentina you can find sorrentinos [3] but if you go to Sorrento [4] there are not sorrentinos there! But, there is a plaque with a tribute to the Italians who emigrated to Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina [5]. It seems like the sorrentinos came from there but, in general, Argentinians don't know that.

The pizza in Argentina is very different from the Italian pizza even if it was a local change within the community [6][7]. The pizza has more cheese and a spongier crust.

The ice cream is another variation, I think Argentina ice creams are one of the best in the world... [8]. Lucciano's has presence now in US and Spain.
