Ask HN: Any Bay Area Contracting Co-Ops or Job Shops?

Is anyone aware of good shell companies or worker cooperatives to satisfy purchasing controls at large companies? Specifically, the problem I am encountering is companies who require multiple revenue streams for consultants to avoid worker misclassification liability.

I am looking for a group that operates on a eat what you kill basis with low overhead. Ideally consulting fees are simply passed through to a sole proprietorship.

Does this exist? Any recommendations?

If I understand correctly, you're looking to consult with a large company since your corporation has limited history, you need a corporation with a more extensive history to subcontract to yourself in order to do the work?

Have you had a look at fractional firms? I have a hunch that they'd be willing to do it.

The main stumbling block is the ratio of annual recurring revenue coming from a single contract. I have my own company, leads, and connections.

I had not looked into fractional firms, but am now.

PS. Do you have any you think would be the right scale/style for this type of relation.

Im guessing most would want a cut of the pie for putting their brand at risk.

Indeed there will be some premium to pay but it depends. I've done work under some consulting firms before but specifically for Canada, I know of Procom that does exactly what you're describing with less cut than the consulting firms. Pretty sure there would be a similar entity in the US since it's fairly common business practice.
Just form your own LLC and get two halftime clients.
