Heh, considering their recent elections rigging by Maduro, democracy doesn't really seem to be an option in Venezuela these days.
This is exactly what I speak to in this article.

The opposition party has created an interim electoral system, completely ignored the governments results AND they cataloged so that every citizen can find the voting act from their voting table by just entering their ID number.

By their count Maduro LOST the election with only 2+ Million votes, against 8+ million votes for the opposition party.

They effectively made the voting transparent and have it all uploaded to a website where each venezuelan can check right now.

Here's my ID number in case you want to see the results: 9827195.

> The opposition party has created an interim electoral system,

I don't think this is legal in any country.

But when the CIA pays, why not. /s

There is nothing illegal here. In all voting centers, witnesses receive the tally acts. These acts were digitised, compiled and summarised so results are transparent, and everyone, even witnesses from the current government party, can check that their tally act is genuine and contains exactly the same information.

This is something that the official voting system could have done for years, but the CNE, the voting institution, has refused to do.

Maduro, on the other hand, has just come up with a declaration that is completely baseless, no acts have been published, it is totally opaque, therefore not verifiable.

It is very disingenous to involve the CIA here.

Baselessly blaming the CIA or the US is a common narrative among SA leftists.

Reality: A population desperate to get rid of a brutal dictatorship despite all challenges voted in the opposition candidate.

Narrative: The US is conspiring to coup the democratically elected hero of the people.

Also they like to blame others for things that they do or intend to do. I don't know what the CIA is funding/doing in Venezuela but Maduro has Russian and Cuban mercenaries in his payroll.
