Quite obvious that in 5 years most HN readers are queuing for neuralink. The speed improvement does not come from code writing perse, but verification, you can run all failure paths in your head 1000 times faster.
Neuralink won't make you think 1000 times faster.

It's an input/output channel. But it could connect parts of the brain that are normally not connected, so like synesthesia [1], but on purpose.

Correccion: "You initiate failure paths 1000 times faster."
If I had a Neuralink, I could listen to this whole podcast in 15 minutes.
I will not be giving any CEO direct access to my brain, unless all software is open source and the entire industry is heavily regulated with criminal-level punishments for deviating from the regs.

See my bio for full rant.

Btw, I was speaking with someone on the r/lexfridman post on this topic who raised similar concerns. They got their comments shadow-deleted, and then got banned from the sub entirely.

This is the sort of body horror that cyberpunk warned us about
On the other hand, if you would be in control, it might allow you to one day create an ad-blocker at the neuron level :)
8 years ago Musk promised you'd be able to nap in your car on the way to work.
I like the idea of people with the chip controlling humanoid robots.
