If I have to eat bugs to save the world then it's not the world I wanna save. Come up with something else!
Have you tried them?
No, nor I want to. I know their meat actually tastes like other crustaceans. But I don't want to pretend it's just like crabmeat while ignoring crunchy chitin and organs. I'm fine with lab grown meat as long as it matches (or exceeds) nutrients of real meat. P.s. and doesn't have foul texture
> organs

Not trying to convince of anything, just curious: why not organs?

Many traditional food contains or are made of it: fois gras, small fried fish, gizzard, tongue pâté, sausage casing...

A reason I ear often is it's disgusting or dirty. This trend contrasts with the diversity seen in other cultural areas like music, art, and sports. While resistance to change is understandable (neither do I like change), it’s puzzling why culinary exploration has narrowed.

Contradiction disclaimer: 6 month ago I stopped eating 99% of animal products I used to, consequently my vegetable intake got much much more diverse.

The vegan police will arrive at your doorstep shortly. Leave the house slowly with your hands up. They will remove all meat and respectfully bury it with appropriate rites.

In all seriousness though this is never going to happen. Bug protein is just a convenient way to explore a new food source. Especially for those who are currently experiencing malnutrition.

FYI: If you have ever eaten crab, lobster, or crayfish you have in fact already eaten bugs. These types of food used to be reserved for criminals and it was seen as cruel and unusual punishment to feed them to people in some states.

Saying that it is "just an evil conspiracy theory" is always just a rhetorical a way to lump it in with plainly ridiculous things like flat earth and moon landing denialism. It is done to run cover for the patently obvious efforts to enforce an end goal from the other side by making alternatives either too expensive through regulation or just flat out illegal.
"Eat the bugs. Drink the soylent. Get in the pod. Live in the metaverse. Own nothing. Be happy."

I prefer the sad freedom out here, thanks!

“I’m vegan aside from insects,” he says. “But there are also vegans that are vegan aside from bivalves like mussels and clams. And I would say that a larger portion of vegans are OK with eating insects and bivalves than you’d probably expect.”

This sort of article reads like a parody of The Guardian except that The Guardian is not in on the joke and is being serious.

there is no new thing under the sun; compare Leviticus 11:22
"Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind"

(Should listen to the elders!!)

Also: Goethe discovered Hawking radiation!

(Faust 1334-1336)

1350 even: "Ein Theil der Finsterniß, die sich das Licht gebar,"

Mephistopheles is large (1e35 lₚ?) enough to appear classical; if he has been Hawking Radiated, does that predict anything about the timescale of the ultimate evaporation of (good and) evil? May we thereby derive a prelude to a philosophy of the future? (is FWN's "Jenseits" his century's equivalent of the "post-singularity"?)

Not sure if blackholes have been agreed to be fundamental [Corpuscklese] (i.e. being the event-horizon-in-itself), but [my personal] intuition suggestively emits that Goethe, inserting the mediating entity, did the first verifiable produce.

Histories 1.32.7:

"εἰ δὲ πρὸς τούτοισι ἔτι τελευτήσῃ τὸν βίον εὖ, οὗτος ἐκεῖνος τὸν σὺ ζητέεις, ὁ ὄλβιος κεκλῆσθαι ἄξιος ἐστί: πρὶν δ᾽ ἂν τελευτήσῃ, ἐπισχεῖν, μηδὲ καλέειν κω ὄλβιον ἀλλ᾽ εὐτυχέα."

-- Seems like evidence we are within Mephisto?

Compared to the play, in the GCU (Goethe Cinematic Universe) Mephistopheles' job is immensely complicated by the dual/dueling attractions Faust feels for not just Margarete-Julia, but also Felizia Harten.

(there is a potential epic comic arc here: what deal did MJ make, and with whom, to become the most powerful powerless Marvel character? [more powerful even than her creators!])

Assuming you are not gvicino..

[Got cut off just now so I couldn't temper the "ideology". max'd my quota for the night .. play'd the bad faith jackpot => rate-limit'd for hubris by the local gods(mods) / House+g(u)ardians. Y not bite the C bullet engage in communiques..?.. hey .. debugging at a distance is typeX fun, like "climbing the alps barefoot", besides, this pecyliar kind of hubris has been blessed/cursed by the saints..]

Quantum coupling and decoupling: the expert street-lamps illuminate "quantum error correction" & "topological protection", but what of the devil I'm pushing here seems more promising in my neck of the woods -- experiments cheap, drunkards & gamblers aplenty! Check back with Dana Scott when I'm halfway up! (Mumutilde looks deliciously like the notation for muon-antimuon bound state)

We have the option of having the billionaires of deployment finance trickle down to mRNA.. or we can have decentralized shamanic orgone.. what else??

AI (arc institute) is its own form of hubris, billions in certain denominations, but probably matched by the epsilons of heretofore undiscovered Katalin Karikos' time etc.

To summarize what has been said-

PHB: use that mauvaise foi to buy up mauve RAM!

孝德公: it's good faith for nature lovers to decide on the exception

Sartre: yes, but also for every resident of Hell, all the time!

Goethe: but it's only effective if you can fabricate blackholes

(EDIT-

Stan Lee: we can also invoke myriad other powers, most of which don't make sense but all are entertaining!)

Saint Aleksandr: hence salvation does not require good faith!

vinnyvichy: In a world without quantum computers and decentralized artificial superintelligence, each agent needs to seek their peers and estimate an epsilon of bad faith (or good faith, using Sartre's absurdly correct(?) inversion of dang's -- you can only upperbound rationality) in the other peers and assume a proportionate amount in themselves, taking the requisite actions to try to synchronize their TUFs
