I never once considered using someone's liking a 1970's SNL skit as a reason to deny a pull-request. So much for technical meritocracy in open-source software. Your code is great, but we don't like you, is about as childish as you can get.

Childish is a good way to put it. Adults should be able to disagree about irrelevant things without kicking each other out of the clubhouse.
