An alarmingly significant part of Gen Z and younger gens reportedly claim that strangling is a standard part of sex. 1/4 (or more) are claiming a non-binary status (which in itself is fine on an individual level but alarming as a trend) There's hardly anything positive about this "revolution".
We should clearly start working on ways to reliably postpone children's contact with online porn. Until somebody proves otherwise, we should think there's an obvious causation here.
Choking has been a pretty common act in sex for many, many years. I don't think it's anything new, and I doubt it's much more prevalent in the younger generations
I don't doubt that it has been done before, and I think consenting adults should be able to do nearly everything. But by children and young adults as part of their first sexual experiences? That's a bad trend.

That "standard sex" is stimulation of genitals. Strangling is not.
