Ask HN: How do I get into deep tech?

2 points by deeptechdreamer ↗ HN
I’m a software PM with a medical degree who’s worked mostly in digital health, and am eager to transition into deep tech. I’m particularly interested in neurotechnology, BCI/AI hardware, med devices, but am certainly intrigued by other areas.

What would be some routes to break in at this point in my career? Is pursuing a masters worth it? Do I join a deep tech co on the software side and try to transition?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd think your med background would be of interest to people in med devices and the other areas you mention. If I were you I'd get active on LinkedIn and try to set up some informational calls with companies in the space, they could give you much more definite information than I could.
