Ask HN: Has anyone used a service to receive and upload snail mail?

I have a business use-case/need to receiving snail mail and having the contents accessible via an API. Has anyone used such a service like this? This would be for business use cases so a low fault tolerance and high availability would be the expectation.

I don't think it's legal to receive, open and transmit mail on other people's behalf (at least in the United States).

It is legal in the US. You need to complete USPS form 1583 which gives consent for others to receive and process mail on your behalf. There are many businesses providing this service. The term to search for to find them is “virtual mailbox”.
