I bought a few dozen random minidiscs from Japan most of which had been already been recorded on by Japanese persons at home. I have samples of many of the discs mentioned there.
Is it just nostalgia or do you still have a use for them? (Nostalgia is perfectly fine! I love Sony's design.)
I listen to them sometimes. I have two decks and a busted portable Net-MD recorder. Both of the decks are next to media players of various sorts so I don't really need them, but they are fun. Without the Net-MD player, however, it is a hassle to record disks because the track labels don't get transferred.

I remember reading about Minidisc around the time I started grad school, I didn't think about them much until a few years ago when I started watching Techmoan. First my nostaglia for tapes was activated but I concluded that tapes sucked compared to minidiscs so I started collecting minidiscs.

Funny my son has a '96 Buick which had a broken CD/tape stereo when he bought it, he replaced that unit with a tape only unit. So now I am in search of a decent deck to make recordings. I have a two deck, two head unit that has a busted record deck and that's what I always find at

I may have to break down and get a refurbished three-head deck on Ebay.
