oh. i had a dozen articles about the new freenet to read... but this just highlighted it's something silly and ill thought out. thanks for exposing it's worthless cryptotoken scam and saving my time.
It's disappointing to see you dismiss Ghost Keys without understanding their purpose.
To clarify, Ghost Keys are not cryptotokens or a Web3.0 gimmick. They have a specific function: enabling anonymous, verifiable identities that can't be transferred or traded. This is crucial for maintaining privacy and trust in a decentralized network.
solving verifiable indentities with anonymity and true decentralization would be a nobel prize achievement. yet searching for these keywords the best i get are reddit threads. not being snarky... I'd love to read something that actually goes into more detail eventually
Did you read the introductory article[1] about ghost keys?
Ghost key verification is decentralized, they are created centrally but anonymously (relying on the well-established RSA blind signature algorithm[2]).
We also have a novel proposal for an entirely decentralized system called Proof of Trust[3], which relies on the scarcity of reciprocal trust to make identity creation expensive (without burning energy like proof-of-work).
