Declarative programming needs a new name

Declarative and imperative programming are completely different skills and need to be delineated through different names. I have people who know imperative languages like R or Matlab who think building something like an online forum is simple because "it's all just code."

Yes, both are needed, and neither is superior. And yes, while declarative programming is imperative under the hood, it exists at a different level of abstraction. It's like saying chemistry is just physics; a chemist works at a different level and faces different challenges than a physicist.

This is more frustrating than people thinking Java and JavaScript are related.
