You imply just buying a property and building a datacenter in it automatically includes government approvals to release anything you want to air and groundwater? You can't be serious.

From the first sentence in the article:

What does that have to do with permits? “Explain to me how many angels can dance on the head of a pin” has an equal relevance to permits as your request.

This is a news article about a business operating gas turbines without proper permits. Are “you guys” the people that read the article?
Natural gas combustion does not contribute to smog at all. Are we required to take every claim no matter how ridiculous seriously or can we continue to dismiss absurdity outright?
This is true for a definition of smog that specifically excludes NOx emissions
