First time ratio on HN (hiring)/(wants to be hired) comments changes

If I am not mistaken, this is the first time when the amount of applicants is significantly larger than the amount of jobs available on HN.

For as long as I remember, the usual ratio was ~2.5 for 2.5 hiring, was one comment in wants to be hired;

Now, the ratio is 0.76. The question is how long this trend continues downwards.

Monday was a holiday in the US (Labor Day) - maybe this has something to do with it?
September 1st was a Sunday, plus the 2nd was a US holiday. We're closer to a ratio of 1.0 now, it is probably best to compare ratios after a week or two to see how things settle out.
It's 0.987 by now, for what it's worth.
