Canada hits China-made electric cars with 100% tariff (bbc.com)

Wondering if this was from US pressure because of Chinese EV creeping into the US via USMCA or Canada taking the initiative. Seems odd as they don't have much of a domestic auto industry and I was under the impression they had more favorable arrangements with China than the US.
