I don’t know whether this is still about the buildings from Charlie Munger, but I don’t think the aim was solely profits.* One positive side-effect was that people would socialize more, so Charlie thought. Guess he thought wrong there.

*Or I have grossly misjudged Charlie. Sure, he was still aiming to get a nice return at 99, but there seemed to also be some philentrophy happing.
