Note that only the Pixel 8 supports proper display out and that Google did not implement a proper desktop mode like DeX so the experience is pretty bad with plain Android.
Real computers are the last bastion of platforms that let you run arbitrary code with privacy. It would not be good to normalize all computing being done on crippled OSes that force you to go through their app store to run code they've granted permission for you to run (for now) and with them as an additional middleman in the purchase or subscription transaction.

That ship sailed long ago, the relevance of traditional OS's peaked a decade or more ago and is only going to go down from here.
Maybe. But it matters to me (and a lot of other folks given the continuing sales of boxes that run macOS, windows and Linux) that I didn't have put all my eggs on that ship (straining the metaphor a bit : )
Would it kill them to release “pro” products in anything brighter than shades of grey? Compared to the non-pro 16 they’re so boring to look at. The official case selection is similarly drab for the most part.

Vehicles are different for a reason. They are all important for different use cases.
I likely won’t be upgrading this year but I like that my next phone will have this
