...and here I am, literally this morning I've downgraded my project from using java 17 to java 8 as it was too "fancy" for our servers...
I feel the pain, in January I was deploying Solr with Java 8, due to the way support contracts work.
Sorry, but what makes a version "fancy"?

Do you work with luddites that just hate upgrades, or are you having legitimate backward compatibility concerns/issues?
