Okay, this is actually pretty cool. I wouldn't call the dependency on cloud flare decentralized, but this is a huge iterative improvement to the web I wish we had prior to social media. Imagine having this pre html MySpace pages. An entire generation would have built their own websites instead of signing up for Facebook... One can hope.
I agree with your take on cf - the idea is that cf could be seamlessly removed for whatever db you want to use. The important detail is that an individual user has the account and ownership of the data. I think long-term what I'm really trying to describe is an open API for the social/emergent web.
