In 2024 alone Intel is allocating 23 billion for capital expenditure. 5 billion from Apollo doesn’t sound like it moves the needle much.

This isn’t a judgement on the fundamentals of the deal (I don’t have the details and it may actually make a lot of sense) but Intel is a massive company. Most PE firms - even the whales like Blackstone and Apollo - don’t usually have the firepower, willingness, or both to deal with companies the size of Intel.

Didn't Qualcomm try to buy out Intel recently?
