Ask HN: A good trading community to discuss infrastructure, strategies and quant
I've been looking to find good communities to discuss trading infrastructure for stocks, options and even crypto. But I can't seem to find ones where are genuinely helpful or even useful discussions. I do get that no one wants to talk strategies easily, but it would be good to at least discuss some of them with others. I tried reddit and their algotrading and related communities aren't really friendly or even useful. I am looking for more advanced communities.

[ 3.4 ms ] story [ 30.3 ms ] threadThe crypto world is crawling with scammers, unfortunately. But I’ve been writing, designing, and running trading algorithms for over a decade now, and I still open-source some of my work on GitHub. The frustrating part is that I don’t really have much of a community to connect with anymore.
The thing is, trading algorithms are highly specialized. They take time to develop and fine-tune. But most people just want quick fixes, fast answers, and hope to make billions overnight. Tensions are high when people lose a lot, especially when they're overleveraged. For me, though, it's always been about the challenge and the fun of it.
I’ve managed to find a few people I chat with on a personal level, but in terms of a real community? Not so much. When you mention an "advanced community," what exactly do you mean? If you're already a trader and have a solid understanding, you might want to try checking out r/quant.

many of these strategies are proprietary , so you can understand how people are cagey about discussing this stuff.
