Sadly, UNIFIL is only authorized to support Lebanese Army efforts to keep Hezbollah out, not to fight in the absence of the Lebanese Army.
And what effort has the Lebanese Army made to keep Hezbollah out? It's all bullshit, we can send UNIFIL troops home and use their salaries to do something productive - there's plenty of good uses for money. These UNIFIL guys are just sitting there doing nothing, and getting hit now by what I assume was a misfire.

Like sending JDAMs to israel so that ITF can eliminate 100 people, claiming there was one combatant among them? That is pretty productive.

On another note, this is not the first time ITF attacked UN forces, and killed them, over repeated strikes and targeting: https://legionmagazine.com/one-martyr-down-the-untold-story-...

Wow. Obviously they are doing nothing, they can't attack the aggressor, ITF. And they might have still some humanity left, so they are not killing civilians and not helping ITF commit a genocide.

We can keep arguing about this if you want, but the reality is UNIFL hasn't been able to do anything productive. Besides being angry with the "ITF" you haven't really told me what UNIFIL has been doing all this time.
Sorry, I am not angry at ITF. They are disgusting. That's all. But ITF is not productive either, if we do not count children killed and mutilated as an achievement.
Yes, that is the issue. Because the Lebanese army doesn't want to confront Hezbollah or does sanction their behavior, the mandate itself is wrong and needs to be corrected.

What are the precedents for UN peacekeeping forces not actively engaged in combat being targeted in the past? Is that a(nother) warcrime? To me it seems odd a regime can keep a seat at UN while shooting at UN troops.
