Sometimes I've been wondering why some groups of countries like in the Middle East or Balkans hate each other with such vengeance. After all, as someone from Poland which was attempted being wiped from the map for 200 or so years, people don't hate Russian and German individuals. Even the anti-german PiS targets government, not citizens in their narrative.
My guess would be that in said regions people hate other nationalities along religious lines. Religious wars are the worst.
