Consumer Marketing Specialist for a Travel Startup

GetGoing is a San Francisco based technology startup working with the top airlines to deliver dream getaways at awesome prices exclusively to destination-flexible leisure travelers. We are a Y Combinator company funded by a number of prominent venture capital and private equity investors, including DST (Facebook, Zynga, LinkedIn, Twitter, AirBnB) and Lightbank (Groupon). We are looking for a consumer marketing specialist who will leave no stone unturned in the quest to drive consumer traffic to our website. You will spend most of your time on consumer acquisition through social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, blogs, etc.), but we do not place limits on your marketing creativity – whether you want to produce a viral video, design a billboard ad, or negotiate a complex partnership deal – the right person will get a chance to do it all. You will also spend up to 20% of your time assisting with product development (website copy), business development (airline presentations), and admin.

A perfect match would be a talented and creative marketing person with a penchant for quickly analyzing what works and what does not and being able to constantly adjust the style, message, and medium in order to achieve our customer acquisition goals. Must love writing, travel, and writing about travel. Must be energetic, disciplined and a self-starter – there will be little handholding. This is an entry level position for someone who wants to grow quickly and can learn fast with relatively little direction. We will consider candidates who have just graduated as well as those who have been out of college for a few years.
