Looking for ideas to keep my old Apple Watch always on

I'm looking for ideas to keep my old Apple Watch (Series 6 or 7) awake while charging. The problem is that it falls asleep if you don't tap the screen or spin the wheel.

The plan is to mount it next to my work monitor so I can use it to control music, check the weather, and most importantly, keep an eye on my blood sugar levels.

The challenge: it's not possible to prevent it from sleeping after a few minutes on the charger. But you can:

(1) Tap the screen: to automate this, you can buy an autotapper, but it's going to look ugly.

(2) Spin the watch wheel: This approach is more complicated but it can look fine. And I can hide the spinning mechanism behind the monitor.

I’m planning to get a DC motor, gear, power supply, and mount it on a wooden panel. Any ideas on the best way to design this for reliability (it should spin 24/7) and aesthetics (shouldn't be noisy, too ugly, etc)?

I'll post the results and hopefully this will help reduce e-waste for others too.
