Show HN: LinkedIn Hype Crew

Hi HN - we’ve been working on a fun project that I wanted to share

It takes your PDF LinkedIn profile or resume and generates a short podcast either hyping you up, or roasting you.

It takes your professional experience and crafts a narrative of your life and why you’re so successful. Or if you want a roast… It pokes holes and makes fun of you.

I’d love to hear any feedback!

Cool! How long does it take to make something like this?

I'm curious because it seems like you could do it with two calls to a third party LLM provider: one to prompt it to take the persons profile and generate a script for a podcast based on what the user wants, then another to get the audio file back that narrates the script.

I'm not trying being facetious by asking this either, I'm just trying to figure out what value creation actually looks like when using LLM's to do projects, what is to stop me from doing the same thing in a few hours?

> what is to stop me from doing the same thing in a few hours?

Stupid questions like this over general lack of action. And the idea that you can make stuff just because you think you can.

What is it that you think is so complex about this?

Where is the project you built?
Stop diverting the question, tell me where my assumption is wrong of needing to make 2 API calls to an LLM provider to do this or prove me wrong. If you're going to be firmly on the AI fanboy bandwagon you will need to eventually face difficult questions like this.
I was just saying it's the psychology that stops people from building stuff. Not complexity.
Once thought about doing the same and I can already tell you it takes 3 days of research to accept that theres not better alternative than the pdf resume to get the linkedIn data for a profile. I am sure they tried various ways before ;)
Very cool, what do you use to generate the podcast? Elevenlabs?
Cool project, but I wish this is how you could get your resume from LinkedIn:

* Add /pdf to your linked url, example: https://www.linkedin.com/in/username/pdf

* Profit.

Instead, we get this [1].

Also, I wonder why does it have to be a LinkedIn resume? Does it work with a regular one?

Totally agree! Its frustrating how hard it is to get profiles from LinkedIn. You can send any resume - a regular PDF, or a LinkedIn download
Isn't this exactly what Google's new NotebookLM does?

Cool idea anyway :)

I wouldn't compare this to NotebookLM; this is more like a ChatGPT-generated script plus ElevenLabs. It doesn't have the feel of NotebookLM.

After reviewing their terms (https://podial.ai/terms), it seems like there’s no clear mention of how to delete your account or any generated podcasts. This raises some concerns around GDPR compliance (or similar laws), especially since GDPR requires the ability to delete personal data ("right to be forgotten"). If they don't provide any method for users to delete their data, this could be a big oversight. Anyone know if they have an actual process in place for account deletion or data removal? Feels like something that should be addressed if they’re operating in the UK and other regions where data privacy is strictly regulated.
You can request account deletion by emailing legal at context dot ai, we have a process for this
This is fun, but how do I get more credits? I don't see way to add any.
