Hi Everyone! I built this browser extension to scratch an itch. As you likely know, searching for most things on Amazon usually yields results of mainly "alphabet soup" brands. It's very difficult to know what brands are actually companies that designs and makes a thing, versus brands that simply slaps a random set of letters on products others sell as well.
There's certainly great value in having the "alphabet soup" brands, and I often purchase them- but sometimes, I want a brand known for quality making that "thing". For example, I needed durable kids shoes for my little one, and using my extension, I found a brand I knew nothing about: "Keen", which has been fantastic. I have similar examples for biking accessories, audio equipment, etc.
At the moment, I score the product on the Product Page, as well as show scores next to products in some searches (Amazon has different layouts for search results). I plan on also showing brand suggestions directly on the search page using your query - This would allow you to search, and immediately know what brands are known to make quality products for the thing you're searching for.
So far, the performance has been fantastic in terms of how accurate my prompts have been at segregating brands.
