Why does this matter? When Russia was cool, the Clintons hired an an attorney, with ties to the Russian government, to spy on Trump during the 2016 campaign. Nobody batted an eye or brings it up.
I could go on about current politicians that have ties to evil dictators and regimes.
It only matters now because he is on the wrong side of the political spectrum.
Because he very likely has a security clearance because SpaceX is a defense contractor to US government and regular people would lose this clearance on spot if they would try to communicate with anybody from Russian government?
