How to frame the idea into the context of "intellectual curiosity"? Probably with the question on how the surge of "things with no sense - of ridicule, of shame, of decency" has happened.
Some of us have become more and more puzzled about how the response in front of bold expressions of lowliness has become very faint.
Fear. People are scared of calling bullshit when the response is likely to be violent. I could be fear of being physically hurt, or of economic power being used to ruin critics, or fear of social sanction.
