OpenAI launches its Google challenger, ChatGPT Search (techcrunch.com)

So far, it's pretty good. It performs the search, aggregates and summarizes the content, and gives nicely formatted output, including an inline video player in one example I tried[0].

In another search, I asked about an event from a few days ago and got back several references with links to the original articles[1].

I think this will mostly hurt Perplexity because Google controls web distribution through Chrome, Android and Google Play so it won't phase them.
