The power supply on my monitor makes the most annoying whine, and I have to unplug the whole strip just to get the room quiet. It took me a while to find the source though, only after unplugging things one my one did I find it must have been from something connected to the computer.
Is there an app or tool that you can use like a dowsing rod to tell you where a certain pitch is eminating from?
I use a cheap stethoscope to help me find problematic mechanical noises from various projects, but I also found that it's useful to help localize the source of mystery squeals.
I hope you replaced that power supply and regained some peace.
yup, had to use one of those open-frame honeywells to meet the requirements while still staying relatively inexpensive, but now i swear something else started making noise elsewhere... will find it with the stethoscope :)
I think the world feels too loud because we're constantly connected. Tech can help us chill out with meditation apps, noise-blocking headphones, and AI-powered tools. But, we need to make mental health and self-care a priority. How can tech help us find peace and quiet?
