As a generality, Democrats seem eager for oh-so-convenient little narratives, about how low-effort victories are pretty much inevitable for them. And their willingness to scrutinize or fact-check those narratives is almost always nill.
Kudos to the NYT, for keep up a slow drip of warning stories over the years. Compared to the usual "click here, feel happy" stuff, those stories couldn't have been cheap or fun to write, nor profitable to put in front of their readership.
