Musk wants to cut spending and immigration but not for H1Bs
Wouldn't approved H1B by definition fall into the desired legal skilled immigrant category?
In practice H1Bs are borderline wage slavery.
Hey now. It’s only indentured servitude
A lot of Americans would be pretty happy with “wage slavery” that pays 80k a year.
Which is a good reason they should be overhauled and enforced consistently, to stop the abuse of both foreign workers and suppression of 'native' wages.
I guarantee the foreign workers would pick this so called high paying abuse over returning to their countries and making a pittance. You’re transparent, you only really care about the suppression of native wages and you should just lead with that next time.
One can care about the welfare of both. You're being presumptuous.
Title is misleading, it's not actually a department because it's not in government. It's essentially a committee of external consultants.
Musk's companies receive significant government money.
And they provide disproportionate value compared to their competitors. Which is why people want Musk to be the "efficiency czar".
The value is irrelevant. It's a conflict of interests for a citizen to be the CEO of a government contractor and work for the government, especially in a role that may have sway over how the government spends it's money. I'd go even further and say it's corruption.
