Alternative to Docker/Podman in C?

Yeah I'm not kidding one bit.

After our initial investigation, comparing networking capabilities in Docker and Podman, we invested heavily in Podman and CNI. Just to later find Podman abandoning CNI in favor of Netavark and Aardvark. We're currently running an older version of Podman that still uses CNI, but since none of our other components in the OS need Go or Rust it would be rather useful if there was a project out there with a similar ambition that was written in C. (Yes, I know of the "cocker" project.)

We are willing to pitch in to help. Any suggestions are interesting!

IMO it is a challenge sticking w/ C. Since you’re avoiding Go/Rust, it’s hard to find a container solution that fits. If you ever expand to Rust tools, though, Rig.rs might be worth a look for modular, scalable builds—not containers exactly, but solid for certain workflows.
