Tumblr Vs. Wordpress - The Better Blog

I'm looking to start a blog and the hope is to get it popular enough to be able to put ads on it and make some extra income.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to which one is a better solution? Ease of use? Social Integration? Customizable?
