Dunno why somebody decided to post a decade-old Slate article, but it was a good opportunity to go see if there's been any follow-up.
And the answer seems to be "not really". It's still a radio-quiet zone. There are still a few dozen people who moved there for their "electrosensitivity".
In other words, pretty much the same. It still exists, but hasn't become Lourdes, chock-full of people in search of a miracle cure.
