This is a study done on Finnish teachers. For six years in the 1980s there was affirmative action to help have more male primary school teachers. The male teachers who were there because of affirmative action seem to have been better teachers (measured by pupil educational attainment and drop-out rate) than the higher scoring on the entrance exams teachers after affirmative action was ended.
