The FAQ for Advent of Code disallows using LLMs to get on the global leaderboard; nevertheless, many users have done so, obtaining clearly impossible times day after day.
A community member emailed Eric (AoC's creator) about the problem and posted the entire email exchange with permission. One particular comment from Eric stood out:
> people this year have been emailing me to explicitly state that they see the request to not use LLMs, but that they do not respect me or my work, and as such will be using LLMs to place on the global leaderboard regardless of what I say.
