Trans means "through"/"across"/"beyond" in Latin. And it's also a hugely common in all kinds of products and company names (including those related to transport and translation):

Trans-Am

Transamerica Corporation

Transocean

Transavia

TransLink

and tons of others

"I use TransMonkey to communicate with minorities"

Because for a lot of English speakers "trans" means "transgender." It doesn't get used as a short version of "translate."
