AI as Tech Analyst
The discussion sparked an intriguing question: Can AI be leveraged to make accurate tech predictions? We’re at that time of year when prominent figures in the tech world begin sharing their visions for what 2025 holds.
To test this idea, I asked ChatGPT and Claude to generate tech predictions for 2025, channeling the personas of Marc Andreessen and Marques Brownlee. The results were fascinating — each prediction reflected the style and interests of these figures, though some overlaps naturally emerged.
One amusing insight: Due to outdated information, Claude predicted a bright future for the Apple Vision, a product Apple discontinued just a few weeks ago. This was the only instance where I had to step in and provide updated information to generate a new prediction. It makes sense, though — Marques often focuses on product reviews, and tech products can appear and disappear faster than tech stacks or broader concepts.
It will be interesting to revisit these predictions in a few months to see what was accurate, what missed the mark, and what was completely off-base.
Happy Holidays!
