I left Ubuntu for good and went to Debian, mostly because of resolvd and it seemingly impossible to keep its configuration over reboots.

I really don't want more additional layers for DNS (which is blazingly fast anyway) which I can't control, debug or even understand. I just want to configure DNS servers and keep them configured.

Seems impossible with Ubuntu - or at least more work than necessary.
