its a PITA but you can subnet your devices, alias the MAC addresses, and block google at the router; even set a google honeytarpot.

i lose nothing by de-googling but realize a lot of people have been captured.

This is nothing new - they're merely just admitting to it and can now expand it without having to pretend. If you genuinely think they haven't already been using browser fingerprinting I have a bridge to sell you.
