Tldw: The developer of the material theme for VS Code (3.7M installs) is alleging that others (like the variant for the Zed editor) are violating the theme’s software license. (Going as far as to write an article saying to avoid Zed because they violate OSS licenses.)

Turns out that the theme developer actually wiped the entire git history of the theme’s repo and recently changed the license to a self-written one, and intends to monetize the theme now. As of a few months ago, the repo was under the Apache license (as it was for nearly a decade).
