Ukraine needs ammo and soldiers. West is unable to produce enough of first, and is unwilling to give the second, which is reasonable, considering demography.

The nord stream 2 cut off a major source of income for Russia. This is between two NATO members with no upside.

How does a country protect its cables? Does it require military intervention or are there other methods for protecting them from anchor drags, etc.?
